"To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle that any human being can fight, and never stop fighting."
~EE Cummings

Hi! I'm Brandy, JenMagazine's new ask anything girl. As a true California girl, born and raised, I've practically seen it all. I'm 24 years old and a convert to the Church. I married my best friend and the love of my life in the Oakland, CA Temple this summer. I have an awesome little girl from my first marriage. The two of them share my passion for life. The Church has been such a blessing to me, and for the first time in my life I am so grateful for and proud of who I am and all I have accomplished. I am the only member in my immediate family which can be challenging at times, but I know I am better because of it. I'm into just about anything. I love dancing, camping, playing sports, and I LOVE the ocean. I love being a girl. I love dressing up, getting my hair done, putting on make up and a smile and feeling good about myself. I know that it can be difficult to find that balance between modest and fashionable.
Being a girl can be trying, unfair, exhausting, yet most importantly, absolutely wonderful. Then throw guys and dating into the mix and it can seem out of control. We have come so far and accomplished so much. We have the world at our fingertips. Now is the time to grab hold and leave our mark. Carpe diem! It is hard work, this being a girl business. Throw in the high morals and standards we try to uphold and it may at times seem virtually impossible. The world has high expectations of us, so let's not disappoint them.
I in no way claim to be a professional. My credentials simply stem from my own life experiences. I just want to be a friend, a confidant. Someone you can turn to with questions you may have.
Anything. Trust me, I've probably been through it myself or known someone who has! I'm here to help you find answers to questions that you may not feel comfortable asking anyone else. You might be surprised how much of an impact you can have on someone else by sharing your own experiences, trials, questions, etc. So enough about me! Don't be shy now -- send those questions my way!
