Reviews of LDS Singles and Dating Sites

WARNING: Don't be fooled by imitation LDS Singles and Dating sites!
Owners of regular non-LDS singles sites have realized a lot of the singles looking online for love are LDS. They want to cash in on the LDS singles market. So they've started advertising saying things like "Find LDS Singles", etc. But when you click on the ad it takes you to their generic non-LDS singles site.
How can you tell if a site is really for LDS singles only? Well, it's pretty obvious it's not an LDS singles site if you don't see the word LDS in the name of the company or anywhere on the page. But many sites have a way of putting "LDS singles" at the top of the page you're taken to when you click on their ad for LDS singles. Yup, I see this a lot. So you have to look for other red-flag blunders like these: the about us page says nothing about being LDS, girls pictured on the site or the models on the site are dressed immodestly, the site mentions finding a lover or a fling, the site gives you the option to search same-sex, gay or bi.
Here are our reviews and ratings of the most popular real LDS singles sites:
LDS Singles Rating:(out of 4 stars)
Price: $11.95/month, or less if you pay for several months at once
What's Free:
-View Profiles
-Create Your Own Profile for Others to View
The Good: There are tons of success stories posted on the site. I didn't count them, but they say they have over 1,000 success stories.
Doing a free search is quick and easy. I searched for young single males in my area and found a bunch, even ones I know. They were definitely quality guys and not losers.
LDS Singles has cool features like The COMPASS Matching System and Personality Profile, Audio/Video Chat and Instant Messenger, Powerful Search Tools, Unlimited Email, Flirts, Activity Groups, Events, Privacy Settings and more.
When you create a free profile, someone who's a member can let you know they're interested in you.
LDS Singles is the real deal. A membership with them may be the best bang for your buck.
The Bad: After a member expresses interest in you from your free profile, you have to become a member in order to contact them back.
Some of the pictures on the website are cheesy looking.
CTR Match Rating:(out of 4 stars)
Price: $2.00/month, or less if you pay for several months at once
What's Free:
-Free LDS Compatibility Survey
-Send and Read Unlimited, Real Messages
-View detailed profile information, including 1 picture, and a self description paragraph.
-See who matches up best with you according to our matching calculations, including potential points of relationship strength and friction.
-The ability to rate pictures and have it affect your score with them.
The Good: If you're frugal, CTR Match is for you. The price is really affordable.
You get the feeling that the people behind CTR Match are truly interested in helping singles meet and aren't just trying to make money. They say their goal is to make the site actually usable for free members, while being more usable for paying customers.
The best feature of this site is that you don't have to become a member in order to meet and talk to people.
The Bad:You're paying less, but you're probably also getting less. It seems like a small company, and maybe a new company that doesn't have many members yet.
The website isn't as professional looking as other LDS singles sites.
LDS Mingle Rating:(out of 4 stars)
Price: $11.99/month
What's Free:
-View Profiles
-Create Your Own Profile for Others to View
The Good: They have almost 400 success stories.
The site is very professional looking.
The Bad: Until you create a free profile you can't do a free search by area so you get results from all over the world.
LDS Romances Rating:(out of 4 stars)
Price: $19.95/month, or less if you pay for several months at once
What's Free:
-Create Your Own Profile for Others to View
-Free Trial
The Good: The site also has forums, message boards and LDS links.
You can meet friends without the pressure of feeling like it's a meat market.
The Bad: It seems like there's something unprofessional about this company. I don't know, that's just my feeling. The website often has misspellings and sentences written in bad English. I'm not against an amateur website or a small business (just look at jenmagazine.com, we're amateur and a small business), but my problem is that they charge more than the other LDS singles services do, without offering any added benefits.

I don't think ldsromances.com is not professinal. My wife and I just married on April,13th.We met on ldsromances.com.They offered me something special,as well as the professional services. So I suggest people here do not trust anything by the thing you have seen, the best way is to give it a free trial. Then you can see if is worth to do so.
I think the post above just proved Jen's point.
In reviewing the sites listed, I felt that you missed an excellent one ldssinglesnetwork.com. They are continually adding to improve their experience, offer free chat and emailing as well as bonuses to their members. The owners are LDS and active in monitoring the site.
I can't agree with you however about going with a straight LDS site being the best way to go. Many members are using EHarmony which works well in providing better matches and whose mission statement is to decrease divorce. I did enjoy your article and found out about an LDS site I wasn't familiar with.
I just met my girlfriend on LDSsinglesWard.com. It's LDS owned and they seem to take the extra step to keep the integrity of the site high. They are new, but offer more then any other site. They have video and audio chatrooms and instant messengers and all kinds of other cool things. I recommend them.

I met my wife on LDSplanet.com
My husband and I met on LDSHearts.com

thanks a lot.and best wishes to you and your partner.Yours, misty
Also check out LDSLinkup.com. I met my husband there, and everyone I knew in both my singles wards in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City were members of Linkup. Plus, it's a way to make friends within the Church, to network with professionals, find housing, etc. It's not just for dating, though I totally recommend it! Plus, it's free, unless you want a few unnecessary extras!
I'd like to see what others have to say about LDSPromise.com. I'm on that site, and while it looks very streamlined and safe, I'm also getting no results through my attempts to contact people.
Another thing to note in reviews is how active other members are in the site. It's great to have a ton of profiles to browse (like LDSSO), but if you can't contact many of them or they don't write back, it's still a frustrating interaction.
Ya...LDS Promise doesn't show any results for me either. There is a newer LDS dating site that films people on dates and has a professional layout. It's www.ldsfusion.com. They just started last month but it looks interest.
And thanks to misty's comment we now understand why there is the problem with the site as noted by Jen. Just wanted to thank you Jen, I know now of a lot more sites to check out. Your reviews appear to be intelligent and thoughtful.
I belong to most of the major LDS singles groups and personally like LDS Mingle the best, I use it the most. I've never had any luck on ldssinge.com I also run one of the largest lds singles lists on yahoo groups and do the Arizona Singles ward page
lds singles list
um, there's a LDS single ad right below, would that not make this review bais
Wow lots of typos there it seems too....There are several lds singles sites out on the market. You just need to filter thru which one is best for you. One site I found is even doing background searches on members to make sure they are divorced and dont have any sex crimes in their history..Check them out..Ldslovelines.com
