T.V.
I don't watch T.V... I used to be addicted to T.V. and would watch hours and hours a day. Watching things other people were doing! But then I realized if I wanted to do cool stuff I couldn't afford to waste time like that. Anyway, no show could possibly be good enough to outweigh all the lies they feed us.

Just saw your statement regarding TV, and I wanted to share my feelings. In my small family we have found the TV to be quite addicitng as well. It was sad that I could tell you what was happening on every show in a 4 hour time block, and they were even competing shows. I was not the only one in the fam struck by this pittiful phenomenon. My 7 y.o. could do the same. So, when my husband & I evaluated our situation, we decided that we were done being filled with garbage, lies, and waste. We did not eliminate our TV altogether, we just instated some pretty good rules. First off, we actually used our "V-Chip". It's set so that antyhing above a PG rating will no longer stream into our home. We also limited the TV stations to PBS. Our television only picks up PBS now. We also threw our TV remote away so that none of our settings can be bypassed very easily. Plus, if we want to watch a Video or PBS, we can use the exercise anyhow. These are the main reasons we didn't do-away with our TV altogether: there are some awesome EDUCATIONAL programs we can benefit from watching on PBS, and we have some great family films on VHS & DVD that are not offensive to us or the Spirit. They say everything in moderation- and our family agrees. We have found that we can enjoy a great family flick, yet our life isn't consumed with the TV anymore and so much more is accomplished now. We are a healthy family once more. These are the last days, and EVERYTHING- including TV programming- is just going to get worse. We have been warned, so what we do with that warning is up to us. There's a great CD out called "Journey to Zion". Check it out. Some words in there really touched me, and has helped purging my life of uneccessary things easier. The song I love is called "Lay it Down". In it it says that the Lord will ask us to give up something that is so hard for us, just "...Lay it Down, in it you will find your life again." I know this to be true in my life, and I know it will be true in the lives of those who apply this principle. It will be hard as all scarifices are, but it will be so worth it! Give it a try!
Sometimes I DO want to smash the TV. At dinner, some of my family members have adapted the habit of eating in the family room during dinner so they can watch a "not-so-great" show. I feel like they would rather spend dinner watching a screen then with me.
