I absolutely love this. It is amazing to me when research can support religious values and morals. Great guy as well, go to know that there are guys out there who are trying to get us girls to cover up. Loved it.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE, Jason Evert and everything he has to say. I've read so many of his books and listened to tons of his CDs. I think he's one of the best castity speakers out there!
The argument here is the same as to why some people say women SHOULD wear bikinis. "We should dress modestly because men like it better when we do."
I think women should respect themselves, and the shame in dressing "immodestly" comes from dressing for male attention – not with how short our skirts are or how deep our V-necks are. If you're wearing that tight dress because you want men to look at you, that's a shame. If you're wearing that long skirt because you want men NOT to look at you, that's a shame. If you're wearing that tight dress because it makes you feel amazing and like you can conquer the world, you go girl.
There's no reason women should cover up simply because men don't know how to treat women right. The guy who is going to treat you like an object when you're wearing a leopard miniskirt is the guy who is going to treat you like an object when you're wearing a "modest outfit".
I have nothing against dressing modestly. I think women should respect themselves and going overboard with the sexy gives people the wrong impression about you. I just think women should do it for the right reasons.
Seems kind of "duh" to me, but obviously not to everyone. I know a lot of LDS girls in my home stake (CA) who wear bikinis, even ones who have been to the temple.
Thanks for sharing this. I especially loved him pointing out how the designer could not find any runway models who would wear a two piece when it originally debuted. It doesnt show how untolerant people were back in the day it shows how today we let the media tell us what to wear instead of thinking for ourselves. I have always found it ironic as well that most of the really famous designers are men, not women. Something to ponder about their intentions…
Fantastic video and brilliant points!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
WOW!! I'm so ecstatic to hear men speak like that. I've been online for over an 1hr and this has been the best few mins spent this evening.
Thanks for sharing!
